Vie means life in French. We build software meant to add something to people's lives rather than take from them.

Artificial intelligence is software.

Software runs most of what people do now, and most of it is designed to extract: attention, data, margin, returning as little as it can. We think that is a design choice rather than a property of the medium, and we would like to make a different one.

Vie is a company. It is also a set of positions about how software should treat the people using it, and the positions came first.
